▪ The donation to Moralane Primary School is the 72nd donation of ICT supplies
from the Orange Foundation through the Digital School Programme
The Orange Foundation is proud to announce the handover of an Orange Digital
Centre Kit to Moralane Primary School in Moralane village, Central district. This
endowment marks the 72nd digital school donation from Orange Botswana through its
CSR entity Orange Foundation to a primary school in the country. This initiative
reflects Orange Botswana’s unwavering commitment to championing innovation,
technology, and socio-economic progress.
Orange Botswana continues to play a pivotal role in advancing education and
empowering learners at the primary school level. The Digital Schools Programme is
an initiative to help bridge the digital divide in remote communities by providing access
to modern educational resources and promoting digital inclusion.
One of the Orange Foundation’s missions is to champion innovation and investment
as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts. By providing ICT
equipment to Moralane Primary School, the Orange Foundation purposes to provide
learners with the critical resources and skills needed to enhance their learning
experience, excel in their studies, and draw into the vast opportunities and educational
enrichment available through digital technology.
The Digital Schools kit donated to Moralane Primary School includes the following but
is not exclusive to;
– 50 tablets
– 1 video projector
– 2 Raspberry servers
– 1 JBL Speaker
– 1 Laptop
– 8 Cases
This ICT equipment will benefit the learners but furthermore enhance the school’s
operations, ensuring that both students and educators have access to state-of-the-art
resources for teaching and learning.
The donation was received by the Assistant Minister of Education and Skills
Development and Member of Parliament for Shoshong Constituency, Honorable
Aubrey Lesaso. The Minister alluded the importance of digitalization and thanked
Orange Botswana for their continued efforts to bridge the digital divide and the
opportunities they continue to avail learners as they step into a more digitally inclusive
world.
