Hollard Botswana announces the appointment of Tabuya Tau as Managing Director of Hollard Life Botswana effective 1st of April 2023. Tabuya is a seasoned leader, strategist and value creator with corporate experience spanning a period of 21 years with 16 years of those being within senior leadership positions in the financial services industry.
She began her tenure within the organization as the Group Chief Financial Officer (and Executive Board Member for Hollard Life and Hollard Insurance) from 2018 to 2022, and subsequently to Group Chief Financial and Operations Officer. In her roles, she has led the development and implementation of the financial strategies and led multi-functional teams spanning from Finance, Investment management, Procurement, Regulatory compliance, Actuarial and Brand and Marketing. Her transformational leadership has been beneficial in driving the successful performance of the organization including the successful stabilizing of the financial environment following a merger.
Tabuya holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Henley Business School, she is a Fellow member of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and the Botswana Institute of Accountants (BICA) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Currently serving as an Independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sechaba Brewery Holdings Limited, a listed entity, and serves as Chairman of the Remuneration Committee having previously served as the Chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee as well as Chairman of the Kgalagadi Brewery Limited board. She also previously held the role of Independent Non-executive director of Botswana Postal Services.
