Cresta Marakanelo Limited (CML) has announced the imminent completion of the "South
Wing" extension at Cresta Mahalapye, slated to welcome guests in November 2023. This
expansion encompasses 60 additional rooms, including 2 presidential suites, 2 executive
suites, and a paraplegic-friendly room.
The newly constructed wing features cutting-edge conferencing facilities, highlighted by a
state-of-the-art, soundproof conference room capable of accommodating up to 100
delegates in a conference-style setup. Complementing this, there are an additional
boardroom and a meeting room, all equipped with the latest conferencing technologies.
According to Mokwena Morulane, the Managing Director of CML, the expansion solidifies
Cresta Mahalapye's standing as a premier accommodation choice in the Central region. The
"South Wing" and the existing "North Wing" collectively elevate the hotel's room inventory
to 124 rooms and conferencing capacity to 6 rooms, accommodating up to 250 delegates.
This increased capability is expected to stimulate economic activity and local tourism in
Mahalapye and its surroundings.
The strategic location of Cresta Mahalapye on the A1 Road positions it as a pivotal venue for
corporate events, retreats, and functions, making it a key stopover for travelers.
Morulane expressed enthusiasm about the impending opening, inviting bookings and
emphasizing the commitment to offering an enhanced product and a distinctive, memorable

experience for guests. As the year concludes and the festive season approaches, Cresta
Mahalapye eagerly anticipates welcoming both local and international guests to the new
wing, delivering an authentic African hospitality experience synonymous with Cresta Hotels.
The expansion of Cresta Mahalapye aligns with CML's strategic investment in the hospitality
and tourism sector, demonstrating confidence in its resilience. This initiative is part of a
broader development trajectory across the group, complementing ongoing refurbishments
at Cresta Botsalo in Palapye, Cresta Thapama, and Cresta Marang in Francistown, along with
the construction of the 50-room Cresta Jwaneng Boutique Hotel, scheduled to open its
doors in early 2024.
