New Product Launch by Botswana Life and MRI Botswana

Botswana Life Insurance Limited (Botswana Life) continues to cement its purpose, working to empower Batswana through insurance solutions specifically crafted to help Batswana prepare for every scenario life has to give. On 28 June 2021, Botswana Life, in collaboration with MRI Botswana unveiled their new product called Thuso 992. The new product was officially launched at a joint event by MRI and Botswana Life where representatives from each company gave insight into the benefit and what it means for each Botswana Life policyholder.

Thuso 992 is an upgrade of the existing Thuso 911 medical emergency assistant rider product. Thuso 992 refers to a policy benefit that avails the provision of emergency medical services by MRI, from the scene of a medical emergency to the nearest health facility. This benefit will provide a unique offering which will enhance the customer value proposition to Botswana Life policyholders and their families access to medical emergency, evacuation and rescue services throughout Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland. Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

The following Botswana Life products that commence after 1 July 2021 will have Thuso 992 embedded in them for the customers benefit:

  • Life covers: o Simplified Poelo Exclusive o Poelo whole of life o Poelo Credit Life o Poelo Mortgage Protector o Poelo Exclusive o Poelo Standard

Policyholders who have the above policies that commenced before 1 July 2021, may opt to have the Thuso 992 added into their policy. Customers taking out or who are already in possession of the following policies may opt to have Thuso 992 benefits added to their policies.

  • Funeral Covers: o Mmoloki Funeral Cover o Lore Master Plan
  • Investment Products: o Isago Multi Fund Discretionary Savings o Isago Educator
  • Bosa Hospital Cash Plan

Botswana Life was represented by the company’s Chief Executive Officer Ronald J. Samuels, Thabo Lejowa, Ezweni Tshuma and Gabriel Tlagae. On MRI side, it was represented by the company’s Managing Director Thapelo L. Lippe, Fidelis Madondo and Kgomotso Kubisa.
